The Lost City of Trellech

Posted by ricey on September 3, 2006 11:17 AM |

Last week there was a feature on the bbc after the news about a man who bought a field hoping to find a Medievil Village on it !

The name of the village was Trellech in Wales. In 1296 it was thriving - 200 years later with the onset of Plague, War and Crop Failure it had gone.

Ifg you are interested in reading his story why not look here

http://www.bbc.co.uk/theoneshow/features/feature/08_dan_snow_trellech.shtml

So I guess the moral of the story to us detectorists is 'if you can't get permission from a farmer to detect on his field - you could always buy own!!!
