Steve Rice has been Metal Detecting for over 20 years. He is a member and past chairman of the South Lancs and Cheshire Metal Detecting Club.

If you ask any Metal Detectorist of any experience which is one of the most difficult hammered coins to find, then one of the most likely replies will be that of King Stephen. These coins can be worth thousands of pounds in nice condition.
