Last night was South Lancs and Cheshire Metal Detecting Clubs first club meeting of 2007. It was a great meeting. In total there were around 55 members in attendance and the meeting started at 8.30pm.
We were advised a couple of future rallies including a possible outing to North Wales. There were a few finds made during the month and I will try and bring you upto date with these in due course.
We were originally going to have our Coin/Find of the year competitions however a number of members forgot their finds. I enclose photos of aome finds made during 2005 and these will be entered into the competition next month. To reming everybody we also have a speaker from Norton Priory Museum in February and we will also have a small buffet.
For those interested I enclose images of some of the coins that will be put forward as best coin of the year 2006. There will be both a late and early coin categeory.
William III Sixpence
Henry 111 Short Cross Penny
1st Century Roman Fibula
Rather than clog this post up too much I'll upload the other finds on another post later in the week.
